I tried ritalin because I'm ADD but couldn't take it because it spikes my blood pressure and makes me feel like there are bugs crawling on my scalp.
Hope it works for you!
I am going back to square one to get retested for adrenal insufficiency--secondary. Primary was ruled out by an endocrinologist but my blood tests are all wacked out still. Also retest for thyroid even though I am on one thyroid med already.
I've also got to go back to the rheumatologist as my sed rate and platelet count is off the charts and simply saying it's costochondritis and treating that has not calmed down my inflammation level. I'm afraid I am going to be dx'd with rheumatoid arthritis or some other big time rheumatic disease.....just thinking about it, depresses me and tires me out. Well, sorry, didn't mean to hijack your post.
Basically, YES, tired of being tired. I was also dx'd with chronic fatigue syndrome by a functional medicine doctor a couple years back and have been in denial about it. It does come with many of the problems I listed along with post viral fatigue in which I tested positive for a major virus that caused me heart problems. If endocrine doesn't clear up your tiredness level, you may want to explore whether or not you have something like chronic fatigue syndrome which includes eppstein barr virus. I used to do a lot of traveling and am sure I picked up these lovely viruses (including cytomegalovirus and hhv6) on my exotic travels. One doctor referred to it as "traveller's bug". Some bug.
I have used Nuvigil before...the newer version of proovigil. It did work well for me I have to say. I know they use it for cancer patients. If I can't get my energy back by fixing my sleep and endocrine problems, that will be MY next step. Good luck to you. I truly "feel" for you! Hugs, JP
