Have any of you been told that fibro could be a stage of the Epstein Barr Virus? I just read an article about it and it does make me wonder but no doctor I have been to has mentioned that. Just wondering if any of you have been told that.
The whole idea of EBV causing fibro or fibro being a "stage" of it is reallllly old.. I was dx'd with fibro in 1995, and haven't heard it probably since.... 97? Long time.
Mono is caused by Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). Mono sucks. Mono goes away with rest and time, even if you do feel lingering fatigue (which I did after EBV infection).

You'll notice not one mention of fibro on the site about EBV from the CDC. Nor, if you look, AMA, Mayo, NHS (UK), et al.
It's been 18 yrs since I first got mono and I'm still as sick as I was when i first got it.
I dont fit into any of the theories of causes of fibro. . There is no family history of fibro in my family.
