Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Others take a SSRI approach, these help interfere with the pain receptors in our brains (or so I understand). And thus they help some of us but not all. For those whom they do help, I'm happy for them.
And then there is the Lyrica/neurontin products, Like the commercials share, it's believed to help the the small fibrous nerve pain.. And for those of us who have that, these meds help. But not all of us and again, I'm happy to hear when these meds help people.
After that we step into pain creams, some work, some don't. It's always good to hear when others find relief in them.
Supplements work in their various ways from fatigue, to alertness, to balancing our vitamin levels, magnesium, etc. They all help in different ways, some more than others and this too makes me happy when it works.
And then there are the Non med options that help, mild exercise, better sleep, etc. This by far is challenging as our bodies seize up on us after mild movement until we can break through it or sleep just alludes us. So it's a never ending challenge, but for some when they acquire one or both, it helps them...and again this too makes me happy for them.
So there are lots of options. And it's important that some of these get revisited occasionally if at first it's a fail. Yet, it's so hard when you just want a break from the pain and have the opportunity to return to some kind of life outside of pain and the doctors just don't have anything left to help us with.
Always keep in mind, that there isn't some *magic pill* that will help restore our lifestyles we once had.
Lyrica sent me to the ER and made my brain hazy as hell. But, everyone is different .
Very good statement wonderbaby... there is NO magic pill when you have chronic pain.
