Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
One thing most people with fibro have is chronic myofascial pain where the muscles get knots in them that refer pain elsewhere. The pain can be anything from a burning, throbbing pain to a dull ache to numbness and tingling depending on which muscle is affected. Most doctors fail to mention this to fibro sufferers leaving us to suffer needlessly. Fortunately, if you have myofascial pain, you can teach yourself trigger point massage to break up the knots which are known as trigger points. When you have a few minutes, check out triggerpointbook.com and see if it fits what you're going through.

I have the "invisible bruises" too....those are my tender points....Docs use the presence of these when checking for fibro. Fatigue is huge for fibromites, as is pain and muscle tightness...I hurt to some degree each day....most not too bad, but some days alot.
Lack of good restorative sleep is also common for those with FM, which leads to a vicious cycle of more pain, then less sleep, then more pain and fatigue, etc.
Have you had any bloodwork or other tests done to rule out other conditions? Keep after this doc, or find another, who'll keep searching for what's going on.....
Hope this helps, and HUGS from down south :)
I can be absolutely freezing one minute, and sweating the next. I'm past menopause (I did that early, in my late 30's). Or I'll be so cold that I take a nice warm shower or put on layers of clothing, and end up being TOO warm. I can't seem to regulate my body temperature at all.
I do have sores in different places that feel like bruises and when I go to look because I figure it must be one heck of a bruise to hurt so bad, find NOTHING. Yesterday my left arm hurt SO bad, that if I didn't know I have Fibro, I'd probably think I should go see the doctor because maybe I'm having a heart attack or something bad. This morning the pain is gone. I'm not sure everyone has some kind of pain all the time, but I know I do. Not always so severe that I have to take a pain killer, but often it is like that. I'm finally learning to be "comfortable" with this problem and my other health issues. It is what it is and I have to deal with it on a day to day basis.
