I just wanted to add that reading old posts is a great way to find info. But instead of replying to an old post just start a new one.

The list I maintain for my local support group has a way to turn off the ability to post any more replys to a thread. I wish they would do that here. Then people could go and read them, but not bring them up again.

Bump

I disagree with people saying NOT to reply to old posts. There are new people joining all the time and the old posts are new to them.

WhiteDolphin, many people have respectfully requested that we start a new thread if we want to discuss something we learned in an old thread. When we insist on posting to the old thread instead, we force them to face the loss of their friends all over again, even if that's not what we meant to do. For the sake of our friends here, I think we can endure the inconvenience of starting a new thread.

Cinda, "Bump" just brings a thread back up to the top., you know, so it doesn't get buried by newer threads.

LOL..poet it took me forever to figure out what "bump" was for. I had to ask and it still took me a bit to get it. It's basically just making a new reply so it goes to the top of the discussion list...therefore "bumping" it to the top.

Even if i was the goat that got slutered(personal pms) i hope i helpt them express there self! i beleive for the greater good of anyone new & hurting,confused & asking for help, that we "I", were helping those reading the post that was having the same problem!

Write to this site & have them filter any post that should no longer be "UP FOR DISCUSSION"
as w/any online site there is always a "CLIQUE" going on.. stay on subject & not get so personal!
You people make it hard for those seeking help & are afraid to post to any subject even thou they are so in need to express their self or ask for help!

misunshine you are completely correct. I joined to get help only to find that I did not fit into the clique. I have made one or two good friends here and that's all.

I rarely post here because nobody pays me any attention. If I got a message like this, I would be devastated also.

This group is not the only one that does people like this. Either you are in or you are out. I guess I am out.

It saddens me that some can get so offended that they would want to leave a help group because of few comments. Even though this is not school we are sorta of a club. Everyone has something to offer. I know that we can have bad days when our emotions are raw but please do not take every comment to heart. I personally am going to try harder to make newbies feel welcome and their posts are important.

I'm new too and I'm one of the people that replied to that post. It was up at the top and I replied to it. Sorry if I don't check the date on everything I read. I'm a little offended by the fuss over replying to an old post myself. It wasn't old for me.

I did not mean any harm or to offend anyone. I'm fairly new as well. I also don't think anyone is mad or offended that people have replied to old posts. They are just letting us know that they would prefer us not to because some of the people who posted months ago may no longer be with us. I never thought of that before. I apologize if I made anyone mad.
