You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Making sure that you get as much of the right kind of sleep as possible is essential, but not always possible. Making sure that your room is dark really seems to help.
As to diet - it is very much a personal matter, we have found that cutting out gluten, corn, tomatoes, strawberries and citrus prevents things from getting worse. Also my daughter has a bad reaction to cinnamon, nutmeg, curry and peppers. BUT this is her - the thing with fibro is that each case presents slightly differently. There is a period of experimentation before you find what works well for you. The main thread diet wise seems to be to cut out as much processed food as possible so that what you are eating can do you the most good.
As Akonnerth said if you can keep exercising gently and pace yourself it is best. It is important to not overdo things when you are feeling strong as you will pay for it in pain a fatigue later.
This site is wonderful for advice and support - I really don't think I would be able to cope without it.
The only diet-related thing I've personally found to help is cleaning up my diet - eliminating processed foods as much as possible, buying local, cooking from scratch with natural ingredients. That's a good plan for anyone, but particularly for those with any sort of sensitivities.
Funny thing about alcohol - some people find it increases their pain and/or fatigue, but just as many find a beer or a glass of wine helps. I'm in that latter class - a nice glass of wine with dinner makes me feel more relaxed I have less pain. There is actually an article on DS somewhere about that.
