Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else here has run into a problem with UNUM Provident Insurance. I had long term disability and had to go to part time employment because of the fibro. Unum only paid me benefits for two years - because my condition was "primarily based on self reported symptoms!" I tried fighting them on my own, but to no avail. I'm interested in finding anyone who had a similar experience and won the battle.

I am fighting with The hartford Insurance company right now.They paid the short term but denied my long term and I have dr's telling them I can't work. They got all my medical records from past drs before 2006(when I was diagnosed) there weren't many and none for this. I had severe headaches from sinus infections back in 2/2005, but nothing before then I was never sick. They denied me because the 2/2005 dr's notes were not clearly written, we asked for transcripts and he never sent them. Now he is retd and can't get them. In the meantime I suffer. No money, income or job that sucks. I pd my insurance every week thru payroll deductions, now where's my monies? who knows I sure the hell don't. Jenn

OMG where do you live? lol. I am dealing with Unum right now fighting for my LTD. They are sending me for an FCE to determine disability since they say I don't have enough documented proof from my 3 specialists and two other docs I see. Were you an employee of Unum? email me PLEASE!

I had Hartford,
They denied me four times,,,My fibro was so bad I had to go on medical leave...I was out of work four months. They said because I had no real diagnoses proof,,,My Doctors notes were worthless. I had to force my self back to work.. They are a mean company. Because of them and this evil Illness,,,I am loosing everything.
