Best wishes.
I hope you can get relief. If you don't find relief soon, you might need to visit the ER to get some help.
Mine have lessened in frequency and severity.
I don't take prescribed Meds now and can manage with over the counter but use to be on Imitrex.
I give credit to FEVERFEW for my improvement. Please read up on this great little herb. Both my husband and I have found it beneficial for regular headaches and migraines.
I also find scalp and neck massage helpful and i press on acupressure points. it can bring some relief. It increases blood flow. I do it on myself.
Hydration is important too.
So if you resume taking feverfew you may find you respond well to it again, Just remember to take periodic breaks from it. A week off here and there.
I hope you feel better soon.
Migraines are the worst.
I use to get them so badly I had to be in a dark room. No noise, no light, not to be disturbed. I didn't vomit but would want to. I could not function. The pain was debilitating I wanted to die. And they would last 24 to 48 hours. Wicked.
i normally turn off everything in my room..make sure its totally dark n no noise at all..i usually have to drink a coke ( this helps me,i read caffeine helps).n i get in bed on my knees in fetal position n press my face into a pillow for a bit then when i can stand for a few mins..grab an ice pack, lay on my back in bed prop my head up on pillows n my legs propped up..place an ice pack across my eyes til it feels numb then put it behind my head n lay on it..
i also squeeze the area between my thumbs n pointer fingers cuz i read it helps..dont know if its the placebo effect or what but it helps me..the ice pack seems to numb my head a bit n just long enuff for the pain pill to kick in n i can just pass out for a bit..takes me hours sometimes to get comfortable but its all worth it once the migraine starts to subside.
hope u can find some method or med to help u out soon..i know its miserable..i hope ya feel better!!!! xo
Two things I can suggest that are natural:
1. Sometimes pure tea tree oil dabbed on the spots of pain - temple, top of the head, neck - will bring me relief. I recently found a product by the company JASON that is tea tree oil with menthol. That also can work sometimes. They both have a strong smell, though, so I can not use them all the time.
2. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) - My doctor had me take 400 MG of B2 (I ordered it through my pharmacy although it is not covered by insurance) for a few months. He said, in about 25% of cases, it will reduce the frequency and/or intensity of the migraines. Did not help for me, but might for you.
Hope this helps!
