Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I have been on Cymbalta for one month. I can't say what effect it's had so far. It's not all that noticeable b/c I'm also battling fatigue. But I can say that the only possible side effects I noticed was a tendency toward strong jitters when consuming caffeine. That wore off in less than a week. No other noticeable side effects.

I have been on Cymbalta on and off four over 4 years. I have found it to be the best thing for me. the only drawback...and it's a big one...is how incredibly awful I feel when I do need to come off it for pregnancies or financial reasons. The withdrawals are nightmare even with very drawn out tapers. Brain zaps, nausea, orneriness, vertigo...to name a few and for months, not weeks. When I go off I always swear Never Again,,But when my symptoms are bad I go to what works. On it now and wouldn't change unless I got pregnant with number 4 :) . Hope this information is helpful

Thank you for your stories. Yes, I heard about how HORRIBLE it is to come off of it. When I went to fill the RX, the pharmacist told me I could not take it because I take up to 12 Frova's a month for migraines and I could get Serotonin Syndrome if combined. I cannot take Savella either, so I am just taking Norco for pain.

I was on cymbalta for a while. It took my body about a month to get used to it. I lost a ton of weight because I couldn't eat. Eventually my body got used to it. I quit because I get frustrated on all the crap I take. It's not nice to come down off of.

I have taken Cymbalta for 2-1/2 years. I have no noticeable side effects and have found that it works best as an anti-depressant. I don't notice any pain relief, but it has helped my depression. Best of luck to you!

Savella and cybalta give me tachicardia. I can't take them.

I've been taking Cymbalta off and on for six years. Last year they came out with a generic which my health insurance required I take. It was the worst of the six years.

Since May my doctor convinced my insurance company that I couldn't tolerate the generic, so I'm back on the brand. I'm no longer depressed, but still have the rest of the fibromyalgia symptoms - extreme fatigue, joint pain, fibro fog, etc.

If your doctor prescribed Cymbalta for depression, I'd take it.

I have been on Cymbalta for 8 months or so. I have not really noticed any drastic side effects. I have gained weight however while on it. Also, it helps with the anxiety aspect, but it doesn't help pain management well with me.

I have taken Cymbalta for several years and it seems to help. I have gained 5-10lbs a year for the last several years but it seems to work. I recently added Nortripeline and that too seems to help but I get really dry mouth now :(

I tried Cymbalta about 3 months ago. Of course you can maybe expect some side effects when you first start taking it. It can be different for each person. When I first started it I had the worst headache and jaw pain I have ever experienced in my life. The great thing about it though is it did decrease my appetite. I mean food didn't even appeal to me. But it had my vision messed up. My vision was blurry and my eyes were blood shot red. The doctor took me off of it immediately. Weaning off gave me really bad leg pain. After that I started on Savella. The Savella had me in a place where I didn't want to do anything. I did lose weight with it to because it made me nauseous every time I took it. It didn't help much made me very lazy and major sweating. I'm now on Wellbutrin and let me say I feel amazing!! I'm back to doing yoga 4 days a week and I've lost a whole pants size in the last month. I'm not grouchy anymore and life is looking better. Hope this helps but you should at least give the Cymbalta a try or you won't know what works for you.

I have been started on Cymbalta and I have had good luck so far with it. I have had a great decrease in my leg and muscle pains and weakness. I unfortunately have Osteo Arthritis as well and it has no impact on it at all, so I still have the pain in my joints from it. I was given an NSAID to treat that pain unfortunately I cannot take it much due to my chronic Lymphocytic Colitis. I hope it will help you, I wouldn't be afraid of it. It also does help with anxiety and depression as well so if those are an issue you have that would be beneficial as well. Hope this helped.
