I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It's something I get from time to time and it hurts so bad. My doctor prescibes a Medrol dose pack and that takes care of it pretty quickly. I don't know if you have ever been given this but it's basically a week long pack of steroids where you starr with a high dose one day then taper off. You do have to be careful while taking it because it can you more energy and decrease other pain so you might easily overdo. I have actually injured something elsebecause it didn't hurt. Yes I went to the ER (last year?) with horrible chest pain for a couple of days and nights, I mean I felt like I was literally dying and couldn't breath right either. I guess that was a flare. There was nothing the doc could do for me since I'm already taking an anti inflammatory drug. But on a daily basis my ribs hurt, sternum, collar bones, and ribs along my back. I take meloxicam.

I hurt most of the time in my rib cage, but the pain is usually not as bad as what you are experiencing. I notice sometimes the barometric pressure can cause my ribs to hurt. I tend to hurt mostly along the sternum. When the pain is bad all I can do is sit very still. If I have to walk, I wrap my arms around my lower rib cage.

Rib cage pain is my number one problem. I've had pain every single day since November 2013. Nothing has helped it. It's what prompted me to go to the doc to begin with. I do not take any drugs because nothing has worked. Taking it easy, avoiding a bra, and trying hard to not aggravate it is my modus operandi.

My right ribs will hurt so bad they feel broken. I googled and found out to ice them, it seems to help. It hurts so bad though!
