Hi my best friend has MS with fibro. I have rotten aching sore thighs especially when I try to sleep. She has suggested compression. So bandaging or putting something tight over the thighs....
Generally I am not a fan of tight things especially around my torso but I think I could handle tightness (as long as there is some flexibility) on my legs. But I don't like the idea of actual bandages.
So some ideas....
buy bike shorts too small.. (could see if they have maternity therefore should be better round the tummy area.
buy shaper shorts type of thing.. again tightness around torso...
So currently I have the bottom of some leggings that I cut on.. they aren't really giving enough compression but they also ride down.. its like I need a garter belt but I am not up for one of those either.
Anyone using compression therapy for their pain.. and does anyone crafty have any ideas about how I could make this work?

Many pharmacies sell compression pantyhose or knee socks. I found them too tight.
You mentioned you don't like the idea of bandage, but have got to tell you, Jenalone's suggestion of ace bandages really worked for me during the night. I liked them because you can control how tight they are and what area you cover.
During the day I just wore pantyhose, or sometimes just knee socks because I would start to swell from the ankles up.
My issue was circulatory and to reduce swelling. If your issue is muscle cramping it seems more good might come from calcium and magnesium supplements to prevent spasms.
Looking for something cheap and this may sound funny, but I swear it helps for now, since we are really broke, is we went to the dollar tree, they have all these extreamly cheap ankle wraps, ankle wraps, elbow wraps! They are all blue and cheaply made. The knee wraps come only one per pack, but my hubby bought me two and I wear them both on my right knee......I have yet to have pain on my right side since I started to wear the ankle genie and the two knee things! It kind of makes it to where from my thigh down, I am pretty tight!
It will work till I buy a pair of compression socks! My doc said regular compression socks and gloves help alot for FM! I also bought some really tight knit winter gloves and cut the finger tips off of them and they helped, but not like my actual compression gloves I bought online! Check ebay....they had the gloves pretty cheap and the socks were cheaper on ebay then anywhere else. Just remember, the higher the compression, the tighter and more expensive they become. My doc said for me to start with a 10 or 11 mm compression.
