I can't take cold medications either, only advice I can offer is try adding some Vicks to boiling water & see if the steam clears your sinuses a bit?
Hope you get some relief soon :)
I take Guifenisen...which is a cough/ mucus expectorant, yet I take it for Fibro....it helps with my fatigue.
I'm sorry hun your sick.....it just seems to get more and more nasty as we get each cold. I hope you feel better soon!
Everyone is different so I don't know.
Hope you feel better.
Hugs and Prayers
If you are having headaches one thing that seems to help for me is soaking in a tub of hot water with my head underneath the water.
Also, my MIL is real big into supplements and she told me that Eyebright helps with sinuses so I got some and my sinuses seemed to have cleared up for the most part. If you decide to get some eyebright I would recommend the pills. They have drops that you mix with water but I have a really weak stomach and the awful taste made me vomit. I was able to take the pills much easier.
I hope you get to feeling better!
Last nite I rubbed Bengay (the smelly one) on my chest. It helped the chest muscle pain from coughing and opened up my sinuses....Just a note: Don't put this on your nose if it's raw from blowing......ouch!!! LOL
Thanks Again, Debbie
Today, I took liquid vitamin B, D, calcium, magnesium with a dissolvable vitamin C thing (and water) It was disgusting! ugh along with 5-HTP, milk thistle, thyrosense, fish oil and white oak. I'm ready to go back to bed and get some more rest.
I had some cinnamon toast and an orange for breakfast. Cinnamon is supposed to be good for you.
You can take Echinacea. You can find it in the vitamin aisle at your local drug store or walmart. It doesn't treat the symptoms, but it shortens the length of a cold. If you start taking it when you first feel a cold coming on, it will shorten the life of the cold.. It works on me.
