I spent the day talking to claims adjusters all day today. A couple of days ago I was rear ended and pushed into another a vehicle.
The claims adjuster for the at fault vehicle interviewed me and all went well until he asked me if my pain was really a 9.......I had been very honest about my life with pain. He just could not understand I could really be at a 9. I told him that is because you do not know about chronic pain.
Really cool thing is the new X rays from chiro as lately he has become a believer in fibro more than ever. My brain is gone and I am not sure what it is called but it is the 5th cervical something or rather in the neck. He could see it was not right and said hey who knows we may have some good come out of this and did a different adjustment that I ever had and will be working on it.
I will share more when I see him and have him explain more;

Be careful how you talk about your pain with someone from the other person's insurance company even if it is clearly that person's fault. If they find out that you have an existing pain problem they can claim that the accident did not make you worse - you were already in that much pain.
They may seem nice but in the end they are there to protect their company & will do whatever is necessary to keep from having to pay out money. They have a way of turning what you say to their advantage.
Just sharing from my own experiences with some of them.

My PCP and chiro decided full disclosure is the best due to all this. I have seen my chiro for many years so he has proof what this did to me. But I will be cautious.
By the way earlier you answered a post about Grandchildren and I perfectly understood the first one.......no need for the correction with my mind as I say you need to know what I mean not what I say.

So you sport a "bullseye" on the front & back of your vehicles. That is almost funny, if not, for all the pain & grief it has brought you over the years.
I had a red Jeep for 17 years & I swear it it must have had a sign on it that said to drivers - "you can pull out in front of this vehicle as the driver just loves to slam on his brakes." Then about a 1/3 of them would only go down the road a short distance & make a left turn so I would have to come to another stop.
Appreciate the comment about understanding that reply about the grandchildren. I have always been a perfectionist when it comes to my typing & nowdays half of what I type is not what I was thinking. Sad what fibro fog will do to you.

My mom was rear-ended more in a Ford F250 that was fire engine red than in her dust-colored little TOyota. Still trying to work that out.
I'd double-check with a lawyer too about this to be safe, if you can afford it. If not, hey, honesty is still the best policy.

My lawyer eventually convinced me to settle for something pitiful but it got the medical bills paid. His contention - and he might be right - was that I was going to be up against a jury made up of blue collar people who were going to look at my healthy-looking self and think "I've had the rheumatiz for years - go back to work!" That's the perception that labels fibro as the middle-class professional's disease, but there it is in living color.
Do talk to an attorney - it will cost you nothing to talk - and don't say any more to the claims adjuster about your pain. Do take the very good advice others have given.

I have always wanted a bumper sticker that said back off but was afraid it would cause more accidents. This # 7 is way too many so I will designing something classy, polite....well I am not sure I want polite! Maybe a metal ladder with spikes and re flags:)
