Please read about autoimmune disease such as lupus and arthritis that are but fibro is not.
One can google the words fibro and autoimmune that state fibro is not an autoimmine disease and read all the articles.
I'm in touch with a few researchers and the jury is very much still out on immune system dysfunction in fibromyalgia.
Answers not available yet but someday the immune system has to play a part. IMO

You should let your doc or rheumatologist about how to react to chemo.
There is also seronegative versions of autoimmune disease, which is what I am presumed to have, but different doctors think different things. I'm happy though one rheumy did treat me with for lupus and it made a huge difference.
The immune system is really astoundingly complex. Sometimes I think even doctors don't that much about it. They don't even pretend to know if they know all the autoantibodies that exist. Then there parts of the immune system called cytokines with may be involved with fibro and CFS.
And Laura, I was trying to say you should let your rheumy know about your reaction to chemo.
