Holy crap, ya think!???
I've been taking pain meds for years and haven't had to up the dosage. People who get access to pain meds, uh, yeah, might just become addicted. Addiction is NOT dependence. Are diabetics 'addicted' to insulin? Are people with high blood pressure addicted to their ACE inhibitors? C'mon. Who decides who these 'research' projects are done and why.
If this, then that? People who breath are addicts? Yeah, that oxygen is SO addictive. I'm sick of these breathtakingly stupid projects. What a waste of money. And ink.
Yeah, this is right up there with Brooke Shields saying, "If you've been murdered, you've lost an important part of your life." Gee, really?! *headdesk*
If I handed that in as a high-school student, I would have failed the class. Amazing....
I agree with you, the doctors are discouraged to refer patients to specialists - they are incentified which means more money for them is they don't refer.
It's sad that our medical system has changed and now the insurance companies are dictating treatment.
