I am have been experiencing blurred vision with my Cymbalta. My doctor said he expected this to fade with time, along with the lovely tinnitus. neither has after three months and I was wondering if I could see an eye doctor? Is there anything that can be done? Will glasses correct it? I don't want to change medication because it is very effective with the effects of the pain and those benefits outweigh the negative benefits of the side effects. But if can be helped I would like to address it, blurred vision is very annoying especially for me being a student. Someone once said "there is no such thing as a stupid question" so I thought Id ask you guys.
I then went to my eye doc - he felt I possilby had optic neuritis - related to MS, and wanted me hospitalized!!! Long story short, I refused to use the hospital they wanted to send me to, ended up 3 days later with a retina specialist who told me NO optic neuritis!! Another trip back to original eye doc - he said my vision changed - for the better (I have a very strong eyeglass prescription.
I still haven't gotten my new glasses yet, but I wonder whether it's the Cymbalta and /or the Adderall - I was put on both at the same time.
I see psych in a couple of weeks. I know one must taper off Cymbalta and not quit cold turkey. I might ask her to taper me off it, and try something else for the FM. Meanwhile I need something for my neuropathy too - this might be tricky.
Good luck, but yes I'd see an eye doc - to be sure there is nothing actually wrong with your eyes inside!!
