Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
My pain doc was really very nice, but his main thing was injections. I do have spinal issues along with the fibro, and I got 2 epidural injections in my neck. The first one lasted about 6 wks., the second lasted about 3 mos. But after the 2nd one, I developed shingles....worst pain ever! The doctor said it could've been brought on by the epidural shot, because it can lower your immune system.
So I'm not really sure what to do. I'm trying to decide if I should ask to try either soma (muscle relaxer to help with sleep), or neurontin. What to do, what to do?
That's what I hate about this fibro.....the meds are just a guessing game, and we have to be used as guinea pigs before we find something to halfway help!
Well, I hope you figure out what's best for you. Keep us posted.

I know here in our town I called the pain clinic and tried to make an appointment. I learned two things. (1) You have to be referred by a doctor or they won't even talk to you (and it has nothing to do with insurance). and (2) Our pain clinic is run by the hospital psychiatric department.
I never followed up...
