Yes, I have this, but not all of the time. I have it the majority of the time, but there are days when I can awake without it and not have it happen until afternoon.

It's always lurking there, but I wouldn't call it extreme unless I'm flaring.

i have it constant it keeps me in bed most of the time it is very hard for me to sit in a chair also im good for about 15 min then i need to lay hugs charlene

Dixie, I have extreme back pain. If I stand for more than a couple of minutes it gets severe, it is better walking then standing still, if I don't walk too much. Also, when I vacuum or sweep, or lift it gets unbearable. I started getting back pain in the days I worked at a bank and had to lift coin but it has gotten much worse since the fibro set in.

Just wanted to add that a chiropractor does wonders for the back. Before I lost my insurance I was seeing a chiropractor that was interested in learning about and treating fms, he was wonderful!

I tried the chiropractor and it made me worse, different for everyone I guess. Or maybe I just didn't have a good chiro.

The chiropractor has to see what works best for you, never let them do full manipulation because this will make the pain worse. Chiropractor tried heat therapy, tens machine, gentle manipulation and massage to see what gave me the best relief. They need to learn your body not just do the manipulation.

I have disk disease, 3 disks that some of the fluid in them have dried up. they were all herniated at one time. then some leaked out , so bone on bone type deal. L4 & L5, and S1. and lumbar scoliosis. and the fibro along with it.. NOT FUN. the pain wakes me up all night long.. get a mri if you can. I have had 2 on my lower lumbar.. :)

Well I sure got the crackle and pop thereapy and then the litttle tool thingy. I would come away in so much pain!

My back pain is mostly in the shoulders, so sorry, can't help much on this one. I do get lumbar pain sometimes, but have off and on most of my life, so I don't think its related to the fibro. Fibro pain is usually deeper and more achey for me, as opposed to the sharp lumbar pain of a twisted back.

My last chiropracter would do the adjustment, but they also had traction machines, an excercise area, tens units, & trigger point massage therapists. While I was pregnant, I still got adjustments & trigger point. I loved the trigger point massage. I wore those ladies out too cuz they had to press extremely hard.

Have you tried Neurontin...I had that same kind of pain all the time. Only when my arms and legs started burning from nerve pain, did I go on it. It helped that back pain, too!

EXTREME is putting it mildly. I had surgery on my lower back about 10 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. But now the pain is starting to come back 10 fold.

I asked my doc for an MRI to see what was going on and he said no, not until I promise I would have the sugery because he already new I need it. Mind you he never even looked at my back...ROFLMAO.

He isn't my doc anymore but have you ever heard anything so stupid in your life??

Anyway Laurie does the pain go in to your butt checks and down your legs or is it across your lower back?

When I get off these drugs the first thing I am going to do is get an MRI from a real doctor...lol

Get an MRI it's worth finding out what's going on!

I NEED an MRI. I do have degenerative disks which causes pins and needles and numbing. After a while, it seems like someone is standing on my lower back, so have to sit down. I'm looking into a new chiropractor and reflexologist.
