Hey all, this is Jrk...when DS updated everything I lost my old account and this entire year has been kind of a clusterf*ck, and I just got around to making a new one. I've been lurking on here the whole time, just couldn't post anything. So quick (hopefully) update on my life...I ended up buying a house, pretty sure I posted about that, and after months of hell I finally moved in mid-September. I had to move into my parents' house for about 2.5 months...it was slightly less miserable than I thought it would be, but I was still a depressed/anxious mess the entire time. And I felt horrible for the cats, who basically had to stay in one room that whole time. The mortgage process was a complete nightmare...apparently going through your bank is a horrible idea. They assigned me a mortgage processor who was in South Carolina I think? I'm in NH...and she would basically email me once a week with a list of stuff she needed. The list was written in "bank language" that even the people at my branch didn't understand. I'm a vet tech so I'm not sure how she thought I would know wtf she's talking about. Usually half the things on the list were things I had already sent. If I asked for clarification or if she got something that I sent 3 weeks ago, I got another list in reply. She did not answer her phone or return messages. Eventually she got bitchy towards me for not sending her the right things (things I'd asked her to clarify for 4 weeks straight) and I had a full panic attack/breakdown in front of my parents, who are the reason I have a panic attack if I'm around someone who's mad at me...so not good. Eventually the branch manager at my local bank went above the mortgage processor's head to her boss, and suddenly all they needed was dates I had sent things. Closing was delayed by like a week. Then I had a lot of work to do on the house before I moved in, I painted most of the walls, planted a garden, and replaced the carpet with laminate...it was a 6 week wait on the floor installation so basically I was up at the house on all my days off painting and doing other work. Plus running to keep myself sane. The summer was almost a continuous flare. It also didn't help that as time went on, things my ex had said to me during our relationship kept popping up-pretty sure I had repressed them. For example, that he told me one time that since I didn't want to have sex with him, he's thought of just "taking what he wants"...said as if he was doing me a favor by not raping me (lovely, right?). So I've been dealing with a lot of emotional stuff between the breakup from January that I should be over by now, and stuff with my parents. On the bright side though, I ended up getting a dog like a month after I moved in and she's great. She's an Australian cattle dog and I've been doing a lot of training with her, which gets my mind off of other things. And I'll leave it at that, this turned out longer than I thought, sorry!
