Thanks for your suggestions, Sam. I'll switch to a heating pad tomorrow. I have a nice one that my hubby got me that I sit on and against and it also has vibrate if I can tolerate it. I wish so much that I could take a bath!! I am not strong enough to get into and back out of one, darn it! Sounds wonderful! I do, however, have a hot tub that needs to be cleaned out and refilled. I just asked hubby to do it tomorrow, lol. See, you did help!
Thanks Marilyn for caring about me, as always!
And Maryca, I hear you about the Prednisone! I would continue to live on it if I could, trust me. But, it has caused me to gain a ton of weight and I have Cushings Syndrome plus I'm pre-diabetic from it now. So, the docs are trying to get me off of it. I just have never had this much pain in my back before. Thanks for caring about me!
Hugs to all of you!

HUGS and hope you feel better soon!
Do you know (short of stopping the prednisone) what the cause of the pain is?
For example, I have arthritis in my back and DDD. I do different treatments for the pain.
I'll ice it when it's bad. Or when I know it's my muscles, I'll heat them up with my heating pad or I'll take a wet hot towel to them.
** just wet a towel, toss it in the microwave and heat for 1-2 minutes. Wrap in a dry towel and apply to the effected area....works great on menstrual cramps!! ***
But one more thing that helps with back pain is acupuncture. Most insurance plans cover it. I was doing it for a while and I'm considering starting it up again.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Oh and if you can't do the tub thing...what about taking and soaking a towel in some warm water with epson salts in it? It may help?
Hope you feel better soon!
