Anyone have problem with generic version of lyrica

I have been on lyrica for 10 years. I was given generic lyrica 3 days ago, and it is horrible. Dizzy, balance issues, edgy, severe muscle pain. I wrote to my doctor to always prescribe the brand name. I called my ins. co, and they said they would pay for the brand still, if doctor writes dispense as written. I hope I can get through the next 27 days before i can get a refill. FibroHyg

A generic drug can vary from brand name up to 15% in terms of absorption into the bloodstream and thus effect upon the body. I take brand name for my epilepsy for that reason.

Harass the doc every hour until it's re-filled, and volunteer to take the generic version back to the pharmacy to exchange, whatever it needs. See if that helps.

But also check the meds (is it really Lyrica generic you got? If you examine the pill/capsule against the description legally required to be given on the pill bottle label (in tiny tiny print, as a rule, which is why I have a magnifying glass!)...

Note: GENERIC LYRICA WAS ONLY APPROVED FOR USE FOR NERVE PAIN IN JULY 2019. So it's not been out long for that use. So...

Contact pharmacy, contact doctor, and if you need, go to the ER. If *they* contact your doc, he may respond a bit faster. OK? Keep us updated.... Hugs of hope.

Thanks for the replys. I already sent a note to the doctor. I am on 75mg 2x a day. I had a few "old" pills in my drawer that I either dropped on the floor, or at times I took some out of the capsule, as I have trouble with muscle pain when I take the full dose the last 5 years or so. The doctor told me that wasn't a side effect, but I know that is not true. So I am trying to slide by with these until I can refill mid October with the brand name.FibroHyg

I just got switched to the generic its not in my med box till sunday ill see what happens. I know when i was on abilify i had to take name brand only because the generic was like i hadnt taken anything at all and i got so depressed.

I went to the pharmacy today to talk to the pharmacist. Rite Aid must have a policy that they do not take drugs back for exchange. She told me my only option would be to call my doctor Monday(I will), and see if he will refill a partial month, since almost a week has gone by). I hope for the best. Fibrohyg

    Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job.  It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it.  Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown.  There was a full length mirror in the changing room.  I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like.  It was a reality check.
