MY PCP had me on Cymbalta 50 mg x1 at night (along with Tramadol and tizanadine as needed at bed) and my new Rheumy doc has added Gabapentin (Neurontin) 300 mg x1 to start first week; then take it 2x per day during week #2 and 3 x day during week#3 as a titration.
Has anyone else been on these two drugs at the same time? I asked my Pharmasict, and he seemed a little concerned but told me to check with my doctor. I have heard of Seratonin Syndrome (too much seratonin) and wonder if that is where I'm headed? I also take 50 mg Amitripyline at bedtime. I'm starting to wonder if all these meds make it difficult to sleep and often feel worse (like all the fibro is lashing out with vengeance! at night while I sleep.
Anyone else gone through this - or have similar experience? FYI - I was on Savella and it was THE BEST thing for me - but after 5 mos. it made my BP sky rocket, gave me palpitations and felt weird to breath so I tapered off of it (with doc's direction) and eventually had to stop. As soon as I stopped it, my Fibro was back to full power! I sure wish I could have stayed with Savella - it was perfect for me early on.

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

I too was given these and had a problem with them . My pharmacist talked to the doctor and they weaned me off. I had major problems sleeping with them. Then I got heart palpitations and breathing difficulty. I know everyone is different but please becareful. isabee
I tend to experience a lot of side effects from meds, so I wish you the best of luck.
So you may want to try again?
Drugs.com offers a interaction checker. I keep all my meds on it to see if there are any interactions. It will tell you if it is high, moderate or low level problem and why; ie, serotonin syndrome. I don't want to give medical advice, but I can tell you what I know gave me a problem. Tramadol Cymbalta and then I had a power drink with Panax Ginseng in it. I had a full blown serotonin syndrome attack. My brain froze in the middle of a client meeting. I felt like I was having a stroke. So, no Panax Ginseng!! Cymb and Gaba, I have to watch; the dosage on Tramadol but I can tolerate 100 mg 2 x day. I don't believe Gaba hits the serotonin receptors....never had a conflict with anything and that drug. I think that's why dr's like it--?
Good luck, be well.
