TW Iam so sorry you have such pain,I will be praying for you, gentle hug :)
Lucky, I get that, too. It was horrible in combination with swollen glands from Sjogren's. I finally found a gel pillow that did not hurt as much when my ears hurt like that.
Lucky64 I remember there was a post afew weeks ago where your problem was the main topic. I don't really remember the remedies which is not being helpful but I know for me it's conforting knowing it's normal(for us).
Keep the prayers coming. Thank you
TW
She's also dry needled my face before.... it was painful but worth it because I felt so much better. For some reason though, the dry needling did not last as long when she worked on my jaw. My pain all started from when a dentist drilled a cavity with no novacaine which triggered some spasms and then I was unable to open my mouth for the entire day. Sometimes I feel like my jaw is still remembering the trauma, and I am never going to that dentist again!
Sending Hugs and Prayers that you feel better soon.
@ Lucky: I've had pain in my right ear. Not an ear ache, but the inner part of the ear. Not the cannel (sp) but on the outside where you would just start to put a q-tip in, if that makes any sense at all. It comes and goes, but the pain is so bad I'd like to rip my ear off. If anyone has had this issue please let me know what you do for it.
TW: Sorry, didn't mean to step on your post. I'm new to this particular group and just wonder if anyone else is having the same problem. I feel as if I am losing it some times. Another thing could be an infection, such as your throat or glands, I think someone else may have mentioned this. Hope you get this resolved, Kim.
Thank you guys for all your hugs and prayers. Several in my RA group said they have the same symptom from time to time because the jaw is a joint. I will still check my blood pressure and will keep you informed. Thanks again. Love you all, TW
I'd burn it. I so hate this illness.
I used to get subcutaneous infections, mostly on my cheeks and jaw areas, once my right ear! It was like a giant zit or boil but without a head. SO PAINFUL. A region anywhere from 2-5 sq. inches would slightly swell and hurt to the touch.
One doc gave me antibiotics (back when they gave them out like candy) and it worked well enough but over the years I found a ginger poultice to be more immediate and didn't give me a yeast infection. Ugh! Plus it's way cheaper.
What I did was take a damp baby wash cloth, lie it flat and sprinkle a good layer of ginger (spice.) I would fold the cloth in half; hold it on the infected area and wait for it to draw the infection out.
I'm not saying this is what's causing your owie but you might give it a try.
Could be tonsils?
Hope this might help you or MaryCa Hugs!
unduki, thanks for the ginger idea!
TW, I agree with getting it checked to be sure, but I wanted to add my experience about the myofascial trigger points (TrPs)... since being reminded on here about them, it occurred to me that I was massaging the wrong area when I have a bad headache. I'd be massaging the back of my neck. I saw a picture of the points that radiate pain to where mine was and it was in the muscle that goes from ear diagonally towards collar bone. Soooo I tried that. At first it seemed to actually be relieving but then, OUCH. That tells me that yep, I probably do have knots there. SO that might be what you're dealing with?
Could it be a swollen lymph node? I get them sometimes and it feels like a bruise. I get one on the front of my neck next to my esophagus. Hurts when I swallow, but not like a sore throat, more like a sore bruised muscle.
Just a thought,
Mizroze
