Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
There are short and long term solutions, quick fixes and some things that take a bit of time to figure out. The best solutions are often combinations of items that work for you, for example, a hot bath followed by a rest and taking a muscle relaxant.
Often, painkillers alone are not enough to make you feel comfortable, and you will need to find out what your body needs to let go of the pain. In my case, my backpain improved after I replaced my mattress! I also had to make changes in the fabrics that touch my body, such as very soft bedding and underwear.
I am not able to take narcotics or strong painkillers, due to intolerance, such as vomiting and dizziness. So I am forced to look for alternatives, and am sometimes successful. I have learned that I need Ibuprophen immediately following physical activity to prevent inflammatory pain. And for other pain I take Tylenol arthritis, for back pain I use a TENS machine.
Don't give up, try different combinations, and be good to yourself....
