They are getting better.
This time, the actress plays a clothing designer/ seamstress. And they have a computerized dramatization of what the manufacture believes that causes our pain (poor communication between nerves/ muscles and brain) vs. just simply vocalizing it.
I guess, it's an improvement as those who don't suffer can physically see that there is something going on in our bodies.
And on another note....I just saw my first ad from the National Fibromyagia Association/ National Fibro Centers. In this one they included men. Again...not a great portrait of having Fibro....but it's more and more awareness!!!!

I for one could not hold little pins or stand and bend over to hem a dress.
These commercials are completely unrealistic and unfortunately people believe what they see on TV. My family sees a commercial like this and they believe this one little pill will fix me. And if it doesn't then I either must be exaggerating or it's somehow my fault that I'm not getting better.
On the other note...including men sounds like progress! - where's Unduki, I can just picture what she would say to this and it makes me laugh just thinking about it :D
Lyrica "calms" our nerves down by ceasing the formation of any new synapses pathways. I think it would be more accurate to say Lyrica shuts down our nervous systems - slowly, over time - like alcohol kills a liver or a brain.
Sam - PWF's don't look sick - that's half our problem.

Now, what would I say about men? It's good they're showing men in the commercials. Not only do we need to stop neglecting ANY person with FM, but maybe putting men in the commercials will make FM more legitimate and worth noticing to the general public.
