Chest pain can come from a lot of sources, so it's best ot have a doc rule them out. Cardiac, respiratory, cervical (neck) nerve issues, thoracic spine issues (upper back, essentially), or muscular. My best guess? Get a doc to check you out. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks guys. Yes, I have had all the heart tests. I do have spondylosis and degenerative disc disease. I made an appt with my NP for tomorrow. And I have been told that I have costochondritis with my MS. So you see... it's confusing for me to narrow pain down to any one source.

Yes I was going to say costochodritis because you described exactly how the burning pain was for me when it was flaring so bad I went to the ER, I thought I was dying. They checked it out and said all it is is costochondritis. Oh thanks doc, good to know I'm not actually dying! They wouldn't give me any medicine for it because I was already on meloxicam. Gee thanks, I'll just drive my self home now (had to stop and pull over on the way home because the pain was overwhelming).

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon... are you on an anti inflammatory?
