I would also be very interested to know about this. A few years ago I started having severe allergic reactions to just about every medication I put in my mouth.
I currently can't take Tylenol (of any kind), ASA, Advil, Benadryl, Claratin and the list goes on and on. This seems to have just suddenly started one day, and now when I take any one of these meds my entire body breaks out in hives and welts. (Been hospitalized twice)
This makes treating my recently diagnosed Fibro difficult as my doctor and I are on a trial and error plan right now.
Would love to know if anyone shares this strange symptom.

I have this symptom too! Have allergies to Tylenol, ASA, ibuprofen, benadryl, Aleve, Allegra, pretty much everything I try. I'm terrified to put any meds in my mouth now for fear of the reaction. Have had 2 ER visits because my throat closed up and eyelids swelled and I could hardly breathe. The downside is my doc and I don't know what to do about the fibro pain. I have had drug-induced toxicity to my liver also so it makes taking meds a real game of Russian roulette for me. Hope you and your doctor can find a plan for you and if so, would appreciate you posting it. Good luck!

I could be way off but I think all these allergic reactions are from drug companies cutting corners and using cheap inactive ingredients. I had one doctor recommend a certain vitiam and he told me not to get generic because of the cheap fillers. I also have a heart doctor that doesn't want me to take the generic form of one med. If generics are suppose to be ok why are my doctors directing me away from them.

You know I am so embarassed. Yes, I am allergic to a lot of things but this time, it was nerves from stress.(cry). I can't do anything about it. I try to not react and think happy thoughts along with antidepressants but alas I had hives.

Maryca, I think you are definitely onto something with your suspicion that the drug companies are using cheap fillers. My sister got samples of Allegra, the real stuff, from her doctor and took it with no problems. But to save money she had her prescription filled with the generic and developed all kinds of side effects that she didn't have before. She did some investigating on the Internet and found out that the generic was manufactured in India (to make it cheap) and the factory had been investigated for the use of impure ingredients! Boy, it really is "let the patient beware." I told my nurse practitioner that most vitamins make me nauseated and she said it can't be the vitamins themselves because we all need them but likely was the binders, fillers and artificial colors. Makes sense to me.

Multiple Chemical sensitivity is common with FM. I had a severe allergic reaction to a common anti-inflammatory drug that almost killed me.

This sensitivity goes beyond allergic reactions to meds. It also can include odors, food, chemicals,etc. I for instance can no longer wear jewelry that has nickel in it.
