Her flares can last for months - sorry to say. take it a moment at a time and try to find things that can distract you. When she is awake she plays hidden object games on the cell phone or watches movies
I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist after a month of testing to rule out other things and a tender point test. They also looked at my history as I'd never been ill before.
Bluesun posted this link to my post about having sensive skin. I also have itching and she posted this article that talks about it possibly being a Fibro issue. I hope you can see the article. It helped me.

For my itchy skin issues I usually apply a cream on as soon as I get out of the shower called Cera-Ve from costco. No perfumes or dyes, and it's the only one that seems to help and heal whatever I got going on.
Also, it is very common for fibro patients to have endless tests and nothing come up. That's why for so long this disease was always called the invisible disease. I was diagnosed by symptoms, case & medical history, how long have the symptoms been going on, and positive by touch tender points. Especially since everything else was ruled out.
How long a flare lasts depends on the person. Each fibro patient is different than the other. You can have flares that last a few days or some that last weeks, maybe even months. I've had flares of all kinds, short ones, mild ones, medium, and long ones.
Are you on any medication for the FM, like cymbalta, gabapentin, lyrica, etc?
