Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I was dx'd at 25. Still trucking at 43. Various options for treatment work best for different people, so journal your symptoms and what does or doesn't make things worse (diet, exercise types and intensity, etc.) and never fear to ask the docs to lay it out. We hire them, not the other way around. Good luck, and welcome to the board.

You've found a great place for support and encouragement. Also, as others have said, read all you can. And that dummies book is great!
Take care....we're here for you.

Are you getting help with other issues like PTSD? Emotions and pain influence each other a lot and anything you can do to lessen intense emotions will help you cope with pain.
The best pain advice I got was to take a pain pill, a long hot bath and lie down for a nap. When you wake up, you definitely feel better.
Give the various meds a try. You should be able to find a combination of sleep and pain meds that helps you. If you need it, ask for a referral to a pain clinic for stronger meds.
sounds like migraines you're having, my wife & suffer with them now, but used to for up to weeks at a time,
until doc prescribed some migraine meds that remove the migraine within 45 min.
Are you getting help for your aliments now?
You'll often see someone write about "The Spoon Theory." Here is a link: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/wpress/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory/
Please read it. Although it was written about lupus, it definitely applies to fibro and many other syndromes and diseases.
Please don't hesitate to write and ask questions. Some of us have had fibro for years and some for just a little while. Everyone experiences fibro differently. The most important thing for you to do right now is find a doctor or rheumatologist who knows about fibro and is willing to discuss medication options.
Good luck and I hope we hear more from you!
