Happy New year everyone! I hope that everyone is blessed with a low pain year and that wonderful things happen to you in 2014:)
Maybe 2014 will be the year that there is finally a real, meaningful breakthrough in fibromyalgia research.
Last month I began to take my life back from FM and have me incontrol once again. I was given a 7 step treatment plan for FM pain. All last month I worked on changing my sleeping routine and environment. I succeded to a satisfactory degree, but I need to be more vigilant in sticking to the routine now that my first month is done. I am changing how I eat and when and how many glasses of water I drink daily. I am exercising on my treadmill daily and thanks to this wonderful DS support group I have friends I can now socialize with and not have to go out or sit in uncomfortable chairs for any length of time. I ended this year on a positive road and I intend to get my self in good enough shape by next June or July to run a 5 k marathon run with my daughter who lives just outside of Vancouver and is coming here to Calgary to run this with me. It will be my first marathon. It's something I've always wanted to do but never felt I would be able to, but this is my year to take control and do the things I want to do not what little the FM allows me to do.
Here's hoping other members of FM support group are able to find uplifting and positive ways to take back their lives from suffering and isolation this upcomming year. Keep hope strong in your heart and never stop dreaming of one day achieving what you now feel is impossible because of the FM. We can overcome it if we don't let the little set backs deter us from our dreams.
