At my last visit to my Rheumy I requested she run a blood test to see if I had RA. My body hurts all over from joints to soft tissue and I thought I must have RA. Well the test came back fine. So is all of this pain from my fibro? Does this pain get worse as we get older? This is terrible!

The rheumy said my bloodwork was negative, but I had the symptoms of RA, so he's treating me for it. I really appreciate that! I've since read that about 30% of people with RA have the negative bloodwork. He immediately gave me prednisone, and it helped me so much. That's an indicator, too.
If you have the swelling, I'd keep looking for someone to take you seriously. I just kept feeling deep inside that I had something autoimmune going on, and the rheumy agreed with me,
