Hello Everyone:

Anyone taking celebrex ?
I start taking Celebrex way before I knew I have fibro. I cannot function without this medicine.

Hello! Yep, I take Celebrex. Post 2011 accident injury trauma stuff, it's all they let me have for "pain" control (mostly, it's inflammation from scarring that is the real trouble, ergo the anti-inflammatory medication). I have to take a GERD medicine too, or the Celebrex bothers my stomach.

I had fantastic help from COX-2 inhibitors, like Vioxx, which actually originally was a med I took for fibro that helped me enough with pain that I ended up in years of "remission" --- minus meds!.... But Celebrex is, for me, a poor substitute. Alas. I am not alone in that, btw. Some people swear fibro has no inflammatory compionents, but they hand out Mobic and Celebrex for *pain*, too, so who knows?

I dread the day my doc says no more Celebrex. I can't imagine functioning without it, either, at this point.

Thanks for your response. If celebrex is an anti inflamatory and with fibro you have not inflammation why celebrex works for me?

it does not work all the time but without celebrex I can hardly move. Is very confusing for me.

My Mom takes Celebrex for her fibromyalgia and arthritis too. She cannot go even one day without it. She has tried other things like Cymbalta but they do not work for her; only the Celebrex. I say stay with what works for your body!
