No, I don't fear going blind, but I do get REALLY annoyed on days when my vision is all fouled up.

I have almost a phobia about my vision, my eyes changed colors when I was 13 years old, they aren't supposed to change after you are 12 months old, I have one nearsighted eye and one farsighted eye and a double stygmatism. I had 10/10 vision until they changed color, then I got glasses. Every time I get a little blurry I silently freak out. My mom had diabetes and didn't know it, now she is legally blind. So to answer your question, YES, I fear going blind.

No, can't say I have ever had the fear of losing my sight. However, I think I would be sad not being able to see all the beautiful things there is to see in this world. I would miss the beauty of the world. I have blurred vision from the meds I take and it gets to be a pain in the neck though.

And now I'm worrying about the medical health, TW! Vision problems and that pain.. you need to get checked for your arteries etc. Can you get your blood pressure checked?? between the pain of your feet, the pain in your neck, the vision.... I'm a little worried.

I have had a lot of problems with my eyes over the last year or two. Currently, my contacts are driving me nuts. No rhyme or reason. Just annoying.

Um, yep. I just keep quiet about it. Hide in my room and think, am I going nuts? My right eye is "noticeably losing sight" though says the Dr. Is that a way of saying I am going blind in it? Don't know. Makes me think crazy sometimes, so I don't dwell on it, just enjoy today :)

Yes my Grandmother on my mom's side went blind and my brother has major eye problems because of being diabetic and could very easily go blind he has to have lazer treatment every so often to stop the blood vessals from bleeding.

That's one of the reasons I see an eye specialist not just a regular eye doctor.

you might want to check your meds to see if they might be causing this.

It could be other problems maybe you should see your doctor there could be something going on besides fibro.

I've had a number of problems with my eyes. I have Sjogren's which causes severe dryness and that can cause your eyes to be blurry. I've had several other different conditions with my eyes, and I would suggest that you see an opthamologist to have them checked. You've gotten some good feedback.

The dryness also causes pain in my case, and many of the docs that I've seen suggest that I keep preservative free artifical tears close by when reading or on the computer because we fail to blink our eyes as often when looking at the screen. Make a conscientious effort to blink your eyes while you're on computer or reading in the meantime before you get in to see the doctor. They can perform tests to see if you have adequate tears and also check for any other problems. Also, I'm extremely sensitive to light and have to wear my sunglasses anytime I'm outside. Bright lights really bother me. Make sure to see opthamologist since they will be more familiar with your other medical conditions. Journal various problems that you are experiencing and take that along with any other dr. records with you to apt that confirm your diagnosis you've already received. Also get copies of your medical records from him for your files and for SSDI as well.

the only problems i have with my eyes are the light sensitivity and the constant dry eyes. i have to blink constantly or i feel like my eyes are getting scratchy.
i wear contacts, too, if i don't blink all the time, they fall out from the dryness. i think i need drops?

sometimes i think people look at me like i'm winking at them or like i have turrets LOL
