Boy can I relate to not sleeping. I take Ambien and have for many years. It helps a little I think. But I also take one Flexeril and now Tramadol too.
I agree, that sleep is neccessary for our bodies in many ways. I have not gotten more than 2-3 hours for a year now. Not good.
I've also heard of some natural supplements that can help people, but as of yet I haven't tried any.
I think once we have serious insomnia, it's hard for our bodies to know how to sleep properly.
One docotr of mine said eventually he'd order a sleep study. I'm trying to work on the sleep problem before I have to plunk down a few hundred dollars for that to be done though.
Best of luck to you,
Hugs,
Robin
We got her one of those Craft-matic adjustable beds so she could enjoy the privacy of her own room. She never did go back to sleeping with my Dad, but that was because she caught him cheating. Those beds come double-sized but they're so expensive.
I take Ambien CR and it seems to work well for me most of the time. I just don't like that I wouldn't wake up if the house were on fire or there was an earthquake. I wouldn't be able to take it if I had small children.
I hope you find an answer soon.
I was told by a specialist that you have to have a strict routine everyday for going to sleep to get your body clock working, things like avoiding drinks with sugar or caffeine before bed and going in to bed the same time every night. I was also told that an hour before going in I should do something restfull to wind down like read a book or take a bath, having said all that it still doesn't really help me maybe it will help[ you.
