hi there...i know how you feel, as ive felt that way many times in my life even in a roomful of people. They just dont understand how it is to be depressed so i cant talk to them about why i act this way. Therapy has helped me alot, being able to talk to a neutral party about how i feel and whats going on to make me feel so blue, but ds has helped me alot too to take the steps necessary to make the call out for help and to know that i have friends who understand me. were here if you need a friend!

sadly i wont/cant go to a therapist cuz i have a fear of people as well as crowded places :( and the only people i can talk to is famely but i dont want them knowin whats goin on with me - i tend to keep it to myself and wont say anything to them.

I feel you. It took me a very long time to come around and actually move my ass to the therapist. It takes a lot of strength to move and ask for help. I understand not talking to your family, but it's best if you can talk to someone face-to-face about what you feel. Good Luck to you and I hope what i said, might help.

I find it really hard to tell people how I feel too...and I think that is one of the main factors as to why I am lonely and don't have a lot of close friends. That's why I like DS...because I guess I feel "safer" in expressing my true feelings concerning desires, fears, goals, etc....things I could never do in person to someone...even though I would like to do so.

I feel lonely, wishing for a family of my own. The family I have now, I feel they are too busy for me and my mom is being totally negitive. I dream of getting married and having a child. Ive had my wedding planned since the 7th grade and already have my names picked out for my child. Im still waiting for the plan to go into action, and Im scared it will never happen. I really need friends to help me. Keep In Touch.

I feel lonely too. Even when I am with someone. I just have an empty feeling inside of me. I lost a big part of me when my boyfriend died, but I am trying to get positive about things now and just start over as I know he would want me to do. Taking one step at a time, and hoping that the empty hole that I have will someday be filled again.

The worst time for feeling alone for me is at bed time, I just cant turn my brain off it's like everything that has gone wrong for me over the past 7.5 months comes rushing back to me and sleeping is pretty much out of the question 1 to 3 hrs is normal for me now and well everything else seems just so dam bad when your dead tired.
The woman I lost has been my best friend, my lover for 24 yrs and my wife for 20 yrs it's just so dam hard to say good bye to all our history plus she has my 17 yr old daughter in Florida while I'm stuck in California at least my 18 yr old son lives close by.
But I am so, so, so lonely and am dreading dating again since I have not done that since I was 17 yrs old and just going on with life seems to me at least right now a pointless journey but I know I ust go on for my kids.

Bedtime is the worse for me too. I try to "ignore" my loneliness throughout the day by keeping busy at work, exercising, coaching, school, hobbies, etc. Then at night when all of the day's activities have ended and the calm of the night is setting in, I begin to experience the dreaded loneliness too.

i know how you feel. i lost a very close friend of mine to cancer and its like a part of me died with her. since then i havent been the same. i tend to keep to myself. of corse theres really not much to do here beings i live on the outskirts of town, and cant drive. havein her gone thou its like i had some part of me ripped out. i feel empty and hollow inside as if im nothing more then a shell.

you don't have to be around people to feel alone. sometimes being around people just makes you feel even more alone. i can relate to your status. i developped agoraphobia for a while now better but i went from having lots of friends and a life to isolation. why do you say no one wants to talk to you.. obviously i'm not the only one in this group here for you. loneliness is not about lacking people in your life it's about feeling like no one understands, cares enough to try to, sees you. it's sad but most people are so self centered that they don't understand how we feel until they fall into the same pit. you are not totally alone.. i am here ..
