Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
Having such a hard time lately.
My family is so messed up. I had the shock of my life recently and really need to talk to my therapist. I had an appt. today but we have bad weather and I'm snowed in.
I don't really have anyone I can turn to. My husband is emotionally, verbally, and once in a while physically abusive. I can't rely on him.
I can't sleep at night.
I am mentally exhausted. I don't understand how people can be so evil.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
I'm trying.

I don't know what makes a person abusive but that character flaw is their's to own and is not something for you to burden yourself with. There's nothing you've done that would justify any type of abuse.
Do you have any family to turn to and talk about this to? A close friend? A co-worker? What does your therapist have to say about the abuse? If you haven't talked to this person about it, I would do so soon.

No, my family is more abusive than him.
I left him for a year. It was a disaster.
I have talked with my therapist about it and we have a plan in place in case of an emergency.
He hasn't been physically abusive in quite sometime. He is abusive in other ways and very controlling, but I just do the best I can.
