Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.

I think since you mentioned your aunts and uncles being worried about getting abandoned again, that is why it seems like they don't care. In reality they are probably just trying to protect themselves and can't see how it hurts others, especially if your mom had left before, that their expectations are set.
Is the new man in her life good for her? Can she introduce him and get involved with the family by bringing him into things so they can meet him too? Make the suggestion, perhaps her siblings are feeling jealous of him taking up their time, too.
I don't relate too well as my family is huuuuge but everyone always gets together all the time. Instead of not speaking, all of their mean streaks are whispered and emailed and softly giggled to each other. More gossip between my mom and her sisters than the 12 year old girls' lunch table.
Have you tried lately to speak with your aunts and uncles who have been shutting you out? Try to tell them you don't want to be hurt by being abandoned either, and that you want to try really hard to bring your mom back and get her to stay, introduce her new fellow etc.
Good luck, cherbears. (hugs)
When I was in school we had to do a project on our family history and we had to call all the members in our family to talk to them and to get information.
Would an approach like this offer an opportunity to both talk with/connect with people in your family and also to exchange information?
If some of them seemed interested perhaps further contact could lead to more connection....
