My son has behavior and respect issues.

My son has almost just about broken my relationship with my boyfriend, we have been living together for 1.5 years and been together almost 3 yrs. My 10yr old son is dirty, disrespectful, mouthy, and doesn't listen and has been a negative influence on my son's boyfriend when he is over on the weekends. Last night we found out that my son has been showing his son porn online. My boyfriend is blaming me, and said that all my problems with my son are falling in his lap. This is not the first time my son had done something wrong to him. My boyfriend has had enough and said he is done. I am so hurt and mad at my son. What do I do? I think my boyfriend is going to leave...

I have been in similar situations with my ES. Both of my sons contributed to breakups with boyfriends over the years. You can not make a grown man want to stay with you. Perhaps if you take time apart you might see that you both love each other very much and can work the problems out. Just a thought,

my youngest son was always a holy terrer. i had MANY breakups because of it. do you let him disapline your son? i NEVER did. im with a man that ive been w/ for over 39yrrs on and off. he wanted me to let him be the father figure and try to help but he had so much anger, i was scared. so i didnt. i was just wondering if its not to personal. but ya, ive been there. its hard wene its your kid. its also very hard wene there are other kids involved. i think they get jelous of the others, at least thats how it was for me. hope this helped at all. good luck...

Thanks, my boyfriend has never stepped in to be a father figure. He is a wonderful father to his son and his son is very well behaved. But he has always said to me that he is not going to get invloved because my son already has a father. Because of all the issues between them I am afraid that there is no hope for any relationship between the two of them, they don't speak to each other at all. There is an awkward silence when the two of them are in a room together. I don't know how to get them to mend there relationship?

What is going on in your son's life to cause him to behave this way?

I agree that you need to find out what is causing your son to behave this way. He is only 10 years old and something is bothering him. What kind of relationship does he have with his father? The bad behavior may be a way of getting your attention that he feels is going to your boyfriend and the other boy. Just my thoughts but your child needs your help. Maybe find a counselor for you and your son and maybe get to the root of the problem and then you can start on a solution. God Bless you and good luck.
