Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
Me, personally, I couldn't put up with all this.
If I say no, that I don't want it and she keeps pushing a candy bar at me while I'm driving the car, I would take the candy bar from her hand and throw it out the window and calmly say "no, I don't want to try it."
She's acting like a child to get her way. If she is repeating insisting you watch a program at home, you walk away to another room and listen to music, read a book.
If she dogs you for leaving to go to another room, then leave and go home.
If she starts dogging you like she's a little kid, that's not adult and it's not okay. If you give in to it, it teaches her that her actions work and it's okay to do that and that's why she keeps doing it.
And please understand I'm not trying to be mean here, but if this is the one that you don't love anymore, it's time to consider breaking this off and just seeing your child. She would grind on my nerves with just this behavior.
It's hard to say. But at least, I'd talk to her about it when you're having a calm moment and tell her how it makes you feel controlled. If she's worth anything, she'll apologize and change that peculiarity.
Still, her behavior is not acceptable. I HATE people that in restaurants say "oh, you just have to try this food, it is so good, here try it, no try it, really, try it" and I'm nicely saying No and getting angry because they are crossing the line by not accepting my no. Eventually I say a louder terse NO and it all stops. I also don't want people picking food off my plate in the restaurant either.
Seriously, I think it has to do with manners.
I love it when my husband eats off my plate. I do it to him, too. I think it's cute. He did that on our first date, and I thought it was the most romantic thing ever. I was sold from day one.
But if I said not to do that and he still did it, that's another story.
No wonder the love is gone.
