Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
I live with my grandparents, mom, little sister, cousin and her daughter, an uncle and my great grandma. My cousin and my uncle have kinda been picking on my sister because she overreacts to everything. She been getting depressed and my mom keeps telling them to leave her alone but they keeps on bulling her. I feel really bad because I'm kindve a wimp and try to stay out of it. But its been getting out of hand and I've been standing up for her more.
I'm willing to bet there's a lot of dysfunction and that's part of the reason there's so many people under one roof.
At 15, you should not be the one to be the peace maker. Who's house is it- the grandparents'? Do they know of the abuse? Yes- it's abuse if an adult "picks" on a little kid.
Can your mother leave? How about the abusers?
I'd go to your guidance counselor. If it's that bad, CPS can get involved. They won't tell your family who told them.
What are they saying to her?
This is what I would do if someone was saying something to my kids: I'd go over to my child (friend, sister), put my arms around them, and whisper into their ear "you know how much I think of you!". Then I'd walk out of the room and hope that my child followed.
Spending more time with your sister, is one of the best things that I can think of to do.
It's awesome that you're standing up for your sister. Not even so much for her, but for YOU. The older I get, the more I realize that living my life in a way that I can be proud of ME, matters far more than what anyone else does or thinks of me.
Sometimes, just having that one soft spot to fall can make all the difference... it did with me. I had about a handful of people in my life that, were it not for them, I would probably not be here today.
