My daughters best friend

My family has other issues but my 16 year old daughter best friend spends more time here than she does at home. I have no problem with it but listening to her talk about her home life, it upsets me. I know that her mother has called her a lesbian because she spend all of her time here. She has a boyfriend now and her mother now does not like him and she has never met him. Her mother has at times said that she could spend the night to turn around at 11:30pm or later tell her to come home. This child wants to move out badly. Her family lives with another family member and I know that the house is way to full. Neither of her parents have jobs either. I know that i do not work but my reasons are different. I am wanting to help her but not sure how to. She is wanting to go to college when she gets out of high school and her mother told her that she will never be able to because she is stupid. She is a very smart girl, things just have to be explained differently. Any suggestions?

Are you thinking about providing housing for this girl??.. Have you heard a lot of these things yourself or is the young girl telling you this is what her mom says?
Teenagers can be very dramatic at times ... I think she's old enough to move out if she wants but who will provide for her?
You could call CPS anonymously if you think she's in an unsafe situation

I have heard her mom say these things. We are more than willing to let her stay here. She is trying to find a job. Her mother just told her today that they may be moving again. She said that she has not finished a year in one school in a while. Her mother told me that they move a lot. They try to find family members to live with. There is two younger than her but they seem fine. When her mother was over here earlier she said that she wished that her daughter was not born. I really thought that was harsh. She said that she wanted all boys. Well she did not get all boys. i do not think it is unsafe physically but mentally it is. If she can make it to June she can move out without getting DFS involved. I told her that she is welcome here at any time and that she can talk to me about anything.

It's great that you are such a positive person for her... Maybe she'll take you up on your offer... It sounds like a miserable home life... Big hug ...I hope it can work out for you both...x

A new thing happened this past weekend. On Saturday afternoon My daughters best friends mother told her to move out. When she tried to get her things and have her mother put it in writing her mother got mad and told her that she was not going anywhere and to take her to court if she wants out. I believe in the state of Missouri for her to file for emancipation, she has to be able to support herself. I know that she can not because jobs are hard to find around here.
Then to find out that her parents don't have jobs but yet they have the money to go to a casino. We are struggling financially but I am more than willing to bring in to my home someone who needs a place.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
