Major cultural differences

I am married to a Hispanic male and we argue about everything. Everything is a constent battle. He doesn't want me to leave, but the stress is overpowering me. He hit me once and I did leave, but came back because I am pregnant. Should I leave even though I am due to give birth in 5 weeks? He says that if I leave he doesn't want to see me or our children ever again. I can understand not wanting to see me, but the 2 year old and the newborn? What should I do?

You should not stay with him because of the children. Why would you raise your children in an environment where there father says he doesn't want them, or you? He needs to get his act together - period. If he cannot be a decent, mature father and husband, look elsewhere and find a good man. there are plenty around and you don't need him. Let the divorce and family court judges deal with him.

Leave, even if you are due in 5 weeks. What do you gain by staying with a man who would be willing to cut contact with his 2 year old child and newborn? That isn't a man I would want as a role model and father figure to my children.

You should leave. He is abusive, physically and mentally. He is not going to stop seeing the children. He says that to make you stay because you will feel guilt if they lose their father. What will you do when he hits you, then the kids? You should post this question in the Physical & Emotional Abuse group.

Rose, he MAY desert them. At 2 and a newborn, it won't matter anyway. His ego should realize THAT. All he needs to do it pay the money every month.

Leave. Its only going to get worse and he is going to get more violent. You have to understand what kind of life is it for a kid to see parents fighting with each other. I was about 3 or 4 and remember my dad beating my mom and throwing her in the basement. I remember her clawing a hole through the basement door to get out. I am in my 30's and I still get scared about that. Please get out if not for yourself but for your kids.

Also on a side note being Hispanic has nothing to do with it. I have friends from all backgrounds and have heard stories about abuse across all racial backgrounds.
