Is it wrong to despise the person who gave birth to you?
Am I supposed to ignore how she treats me and respect her because she's my mother?
Sometimes I wish I could just wake up to realize that my life and the pain my "family" has put me through was just a really long nightmare, and that my real family, the ones who love me and want to protect me are here.
I feel like a stranger in my own home.

because of what my mother has done to me. What doesn't you kill makes you stronger. I don't want to be any stronger.

i always tell people i don't care if the person gave birth to me or not, it doesn't excuse anything and doesn't make them a parent. anybody can have sex, make babies, and pop them out but if u don't have the ingredients love, sympathy, compassion, etc as a parent, then what good is it? u might as well be a foster parent or some caretaker. lots of people either shut up when i said that and others got so irate with me it was a huge battle.
why should a person respect someone who abused them? there is no respect that was lost long ago when the abuse started! i told this to my therapist she said they are still ur parents, i told her by DNA that is it nothing physically, spiritually, or emotionally there between me and them.
i always felt like a stranger in my home my sister said they don't know me like they think they do besides they never took the time to do anything with us like normal loving parents do for their kids. told my therapist parents or not, actions will always speak louder than words. ur a parent, u shouldn't be using ur motherly instincts/emotions, use facts to back up what u have to say.
do u live at home? if so, then yea, u would have to respect her because u r in her house. however, if u were on ur own, then u don't have to respect her or acknowledge her. i'm somewhat respectful towards my parents if i was on my own, i would drop all contact with them.
very few people think how i think and that group got all bent out of shape because i said something completely different and how society wouldn't agree with it. my parents have earned absolutely nothing their actions speak louder than anything else. which is true in life actions speak louder than anything in this world i dont care how many times a person can say i love you x amount of times but if he/she is out screwing someone else then what does that say about them?
told therapist i am not required to do anything because i am linked to them by blood and she just looked at me with her eyes popping out. read a book called mean mothers by peg streep which is a great book she speaks out against mean mothers she is from the 50s era having a mean mom back then was unheard of it. she has a lot of backed up info and interviews a lot of women in the book.
