I have not been in contact with my mother since Jan.It is her birthday and I feel guilty I didn't send her a card or call her. I know it wouldn't be a positive thing to contact.her. It make me feel very sad.

Sorry to hear your feeling blue. This is the hard part when estrangement is involved. It's painful sometimes.
You have to weigh the pros and cons occasionally just to reiterate your reasons for the estrangement. If I contact her it will result in this, possibly. If I don't then your dealing with your own guilt.
It shows you're a good and loving person that wishes things could be different.
