Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
Stay close with your mom unless it interferes with her and your dad because you may need her support and because she treats you right.
If you are outgrowing husband realize that that does happen when you pick a mate for all the wrong reasons. Just take things slow and don't make enemies any more than you have to. Best advice I can give is when you make a decision, prepare for that decision and follow through.
I have been diagnosed with a personality disorder (dependent personality disorder which strongly resembles borderline personality disorder) I have trouble with emotions and it does not make my life easy for me or those around me so I tend to "protect" people (they think I don't want to be around them and it's very untrue I'm just protecting them and me at the same time. We both have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He's had his share of emotional issues but through them we have bonded and somehow understood each other greatly most of the time. The problems I would definitely say started when we turned our friendship into a relationship.
I'm having a lot of problems right now because he is dealing with major issues of his own concerning a prior marriage and it's affecting me a lot :-) I know once he is home I will feel a lot better and not be as worried :-). I am just working through it. But yes at times it does feel like I outgrow him through my therapy :-) but I know I couldn't have done it without him pushing me.
Relationships have always been complicated for me and not a lot of people understand me. I'm slightly neurotic :-) But, I just have feelings that I never really expressed because I lived in a state of disassociation maybe due to the PTSD it helps to try to express them in the best way possible here so I get them out in writing some way because they are a lot clearer to me now that I am out of a lot of the fog.
Thanks for the feedback. I do keep in contact with my mother and hopefully one day when the time is right I can reconcile with my entire family but some of them have to learn not to be abusive towards me before this ever happens and it's sad because my grandmother is the only grandparent left and I feel like I can't talk to her because I feel she tries to manipulate me into making amends with them. They don't get the impact it has when your own dad hits you in the face and they don't understand the emotional stress I go through when I go there so I simply refuse to go there anymore. I spiral down every time and it's not worth it because I end up letting them take my progress away from me.
But I do remain in contact with my mother :-).
I guess you could say my husband and I are relearning each other after the experience a very painful relationship for both of us due to trauma in the past on both sides and it's taking time for me to give into him and just let time do the rest :-).
I'll know more when i don't have to depend on him which currently i am working on becoming more independent :-) and it's helping me thrive a lot better. I just feel alone a lot of the times.
