Husbands view of talking to Customer Service Peopl

He says they don't want to hear about personal things.  Just say what is needed and that's it.


They don't care about me.  I told customer service why I was having problems with an object


talked about being a senior and the recording saying we want to help seniors so please get on


computer to fix your problem or whatever.  So we can help seniors but give no phone number


for the seniors to call.  And that I was calling Audio book department to get to general customer


service.  Too another customer service person.  Is he right?  Just give the basic facts and say


no more?

That all depends. it might be best to put yourself in the shoes of the store clerk who has to deal with unhappy customers all day long.

Many of the men I've dealt with have been as you describe: completely factual which is a shame.

I don't think most people care about the things other people are dealing with. Customer service jobs are hard, people bitch at you all day long, and you make very little money. So I think keeping it business like is best. This is really a matter of personality. These companies give no phone number because they don't want to pay people to help people. They want it all via email or online because it is faster and easier. So if we are talking, talking, talking, we may be lessening the employees sales or number of calls. Companies do keep records of how fast and how many calls a customer service rep takes and handles successfully. Our long winded complaints may just work against this system and get us less help. Isn't right perhaps but it might help to keep this in mind and try being businesslike and matter of fact next time and just see how this works for you. And my husband talks too much to these customer service people a lot of the time. Then he gets mad at them. HA HA

I would also say just stick to your facts. Giving more information that what is necessary could very well complicate the help your trying to get. Staying on topic will get your problem resolved much quicker.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
