My wife's son, his wife and 2 small children moved from Michigan to our home in Texas. They sold their house and quit their jobs to do so.
I had told them they are welcome to stay until they are on their feet. Both got good jobs within a month.
Tensions are high in the house, both kids treat me like i am invisible and my wife won't say anything due to the grandchildren.
Last week, her son got in my face while my wife and i were bickering. I had a tone with me wife. Her son who is 350 and 6 ft compared to my 180 and 5'5", began moving me out the door with his belly.
I am now living elsewhere. Her son won't try to resolve this with me. They are still living in our house. I can't come home until its resolved or tgey have moved. My wife is an emotional wreck. Any advice?

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Have you ever heard of a man going off on a step day his mother was having a disagreement with her new husband and it wasn't because the husband kind of crossed the line.
Men sometimes see things as bickering, but they are larger, usually more verbally aggressive and can edge into bullying without realizing it.
The other adults in the family are giving him the cold shoulder and the son literally bellied him away from his ?
Sounds like the bickering edged into bulling to me. I wasn't trying to be rude, just putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
I'd put them out.... He was trying to intimidate you using his bulk.... Not cool and bullying behaviour......
This is your home and they can get 'their' home
not all men are as you seem to presume
what kind of "man" decides to bring his wife along to squat in his stepfather's house?
all couples need a way to vent with each other in a style that works for them, although i wouldn't choose it to be via bickering over petty stuff, some happy couples do,
if this is what fat free loader sonny boy is getting all pissy assed, he ought to give his mom and stepfather some privacy
see what i mean about putting the puzzle pieces together, i doubt that we have enough
I't strange to me that the interaction between the Op and his spouse which he described as bickering, precipitated a blow up between him and the SIL and ended with the OP leaving the home to stay somewhere else and the wife being an emotional wreck. Normally a man does not get bounced from his own home unless his behavior was out of bounds. Whatever was going on was building as he said tensions were high and they were ignoring him before the blow up. In situation like that I'm certain no one was at their best.
The pushing him with his belly is an old fashioned low grade physical intervention for coming between two people in conflict without putting hands on. That's what makes me think there was more than bickering going on between the Op and his wife when the SIL intervened.
where's mum on this, is she an enabler, can't see her son is not a man, her boy lives with momma
