Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
I would take the high road, think about the groom in the coming up wedding.
If your husband likes him and wants the guy's wedding to go smoothly, I would just focus on the wedding. I would put my personal wants and desires aside, I would tell myself it's not all about me, not my time to get my personal vindication.
If I wanted to go to the bachelor party I would go. FOR THE GROOM. I wouldn't get all in a huff about disrespect that was coming at me... I would let it go.
All that advice is for how I feel your husband should handle it.
As for you, I wouldn't even get in the middle of it at all. I would let my husband figure it out for himself. If your Mother wants to help her son, that is her business, but I would again.. just let it go and if your husband makes it to the bachelor party he does. If he doesn't well he has saved himself some money and a hangover and can be a more rested groomsman ( and also have more money in his pocket and he'll miss the strippers too! lol)
Good luck!
Your mother is defending the Golden Boy and she's permissive because she's obviously living life through her mother's death.
Honestly, since this shouldn't come as much of a surprise -- even I am not, due to you posting the background -- I'd be like, whatever.
I'd just take a step back and let it roll... The best response is no response. Then, if THEY bring it up, just say, "Well, I figured you clearly have your point of view on the matter, so I thought I'd just let it go." They're probably looking for the drama... don't play into it. They'll probably call you smug and holier than thou, but again... whatever.
I know it's infuriating... my grandmother has a saying when there's nothing to say and I've been using it as my mantra: So be it.
You may want to try that approach.
Hugs.
It's time to get your life back. Start setting boundaries.
