And yes, you ARE a beautiful person.
And his girlfriend can live with his cheating if she wants. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he hasn't convinced her that it's all her fault...
My best suggestion, is to limit contact.
I'm happy to hear that you've realized your true self and value who you are. It's a great start. Good for you for taking back your own space!
We should always surround ourselves with people who support us, who are happy for us and who generally care about our well being. We cant' go backwards but we sure can move forward with the best possible attitude and enjoy our lives. Good for you, you made my day with this post!
I have blocked my brother from contact. I have given him more chances than he deserves. I forgave him for the 9 years he disappeared from my life, during which I was fighting breast cancer twice. He has used up all of his chances.
And yes, pd2012, we can choose the people in our lives who are going to be there for us, who are supportive. Just because they are blood, doesn't mean that they must to remain in our lives when they do nothing but abuse us.
Whathappened88, I'm so sorry for your sister's lack of love and gratitude. You gave her the gift of life! I can imagine that my brother would treat me the same if I had donated an organ to him as well. Narcissism knows no loyalty, no gratitude, no love. It is devoid of conscience. It blames the world for the unhappiness and darkness in their souls. You look into the eyes of a narcissist and all you see is a double-zero. They find victims who they think they can hurt the most by their mistreatment, so it usually family members. My brother is a narcissist in every part of the word. I have felt like the baby bird that the other siblings would peck and push out of the nest before it could fly. I gave up many years ago trying to change my family. I accepted that I could never make them into the loving, nurturing family that I wanted them to be. I put miles between them and I. It is the only way I can live a peaceful and creative life. I work hard at finding gratitude every day and thanking the Universe for what little bit I have, which is not much, but it is all I need... and for my continued health, and my wonderful two adult children and two granddaughters. The best gifts of all. And my gratitude that I found this forum, which is so validating. Thank you.
