Family Issues Support Group
Family issues is a huge range that go from minor conflict to major misbehaviour and even abuse on the part of individual members of the family occur. Whether you feel you are in a dysfunctional family or you're dealing with a very specific issue, this is the place to talk about it and find others who might be going through the same thing.
She could mean that she wants you to be close to your son...
What if's are dangerous. It's just a mind game, anyway.
I'd use this occurrence to examine why this happening made you feel this way? Do you think she's doing that to your son- controlling him?
In a situation like that I would have said something like "A house just for me! Yey! Once it's on my name I can sell it and buy another one on the opposite side of town! Ha ha ha!". Her reaction to that can tell you if she gets humor or if she's a controlling person. Controlling people become serious and vindictive after a comeback. People who get fun don't.
Remember: she's your EX now, so you only owe her in the way of supporting your child together.
Be polite at a distance and learn how to draw boundaries. Just say, "Oooh... that's a touchy subject. I think we'd best stay to topics relating to our son." Then smile and ask how he's doing at school or whatever.
